Born in Sainte-Émilie de Lotbinière, Amédée Demers began his career in logging before becoming an entrepreneur in Quebec City. He obtained municipal contracts as early as 1916, then founded Komo Construction, specialized in reinforced concrete, which carried out several major projects, including the Quebec incinerator and the Quebec-Chicoutimi highway.
Active in many companies, he participated in the creation of Habitations St-Louis, Pétroles de Québec and Brique Citadelle. He also contributed to the construction of Baie-Comeau and, later, to major real estate projects such as Place Laurier.
In 1959, he co-founded Lac-Delage, where he became mayor until his death. A prominent figure in regional economic development, he managed several important companies until the end of his life.
