Here’s how he was presented as VP in 2023:

Passionate about French-language Catholic education, Robert Demers has been working in this field for more than 40 years. Having first started his career as a French as a second language teacher in the English-speaking system, he continued his work in French-language schools and then became a school principal for 23 years. In 2010, he retired. He ran as a candidate to become a school counsellor in the fall 2010 elections. He has represented the Chatham-Kent region for 12 years where he held the positions of president and vice-president of Csc Providence. He has been a member of the AFOCSC board of directors for several years. Mr. Demers is also very involved in his community, especially in the Family of Parishes of Lakes Érie and Sainte-Claire. He is also part of the Knights of Columbus, Council 9693. « We are very honoured to welcome Mr. Demers as vice-president of the AFOCSC. A very active member of the Association, he will also be able to benefit from his immense talent as a representative on the provincial scene and help us in the pursuit of our objectives for the promotion of our French-language education system in Ontario, » said Johanne Lacombe, president of the AFOCSC. »
